Contributing

Ovra’s source code is on GitHub . Bug reports, ideas and pull requests are welcome.

Ways to help

  • Report a bug. Open an issue  with your macOS version, Ovra version and the steps that cause the problem.
  • Suggest a feature or an API. Open an issue describing what you want to build and what’s missing.
  • Fix something. Look for open issues, then send a pull request.
  • Translate. Ovra is localized in nine languages; strings live in the *.lproj/Localizable.strings files.

Pull requests

  1. Fork the repository and create a branch from main.
  2. Build Ovra from source and make your change.
  3. Keep the change focused: one fix or feature per pull request.
  4. Describe what you changed and how you tested it, with screenshots for anything visual.

Code style

  • Match the code around you: naming, indentation and the amount of comments.
  • SwiftUI for interface, AppKit only where SwiftUI can’t do the job.
  • Every string a user sees goes through NSLocalizedString.
  • Avoid new dependencies unless they clearly pay for themselves.

Security issues

Please don’t report security problems in a public issue. See Permissions & security.
