Share a theme pack

Available

Themes are the one thing you can build for Ovra today. A theme pack is a single .ovratheme file with several themes. When someone double-clicks it, Ovra adds every theme and switches to the first one.

Design your themes

The easiest way is inside Ovra: Settings › Themes › New Theme. Pick 2–4 colours, a direction and effects, and watch the live preview.

Export them

From each theme’s … menu choose Export…, or use Export All… to put all your custom themes in one file.

Or generate the file

To make many themes, write the file yourself. It’s JSON — see the format:

pack.mjs
import { writeFileSync } from 'node:fs' const themes = [ { name: 'Dune', colorHexes: ['#E0A96D', '#B5651D'], angle: 135 }, { name: 'Lagoon', colorHexes: ['#1CB5E0', '#000851'], angle: 160 }, { name: 'Paper', colorHexes: ['#F5F5F7', '#E8E8ED'], angle: 180, textStyle: 'dark' } ] writeFileSync( 'My Pack.ovratheme', JSON.stringify({ format: 'com.ovra.theme', version: 1, themes }, null, 2) )

Test it

Double-click the file. Check every theme in light and dark mode, and make sure text stays readable — set textStyle to "light" or "dark" if the automatic choice isn’t right.

Share it

Attach the file to a GitHub release, your website or a message. Once the Ovra gallery opens, you’ll be able to submit it there too.
