Releasing

Releases are built and published with scripts/release.sh. Full instructions are in scripts/RELEASING.md in the repository.

How updates reach users

1. release.sh archives a Release build, signs it, zips it and signs the zip with Sparkle’s EdDSA key.
2. The zip is attached to a GitHub release, v<version>.
3. The feed, appcast.xml, is updated on main and served by GitHub Pages at https://ovrabrowser.github.io/Ovra/appcast.xml.
4. Installed copies check the feed once a day and offer the update.

Build numbers are timestamps, so every release is newer than the last. Only maintainers with the signing keys can publish.
